Question:
To ask the Minister for Infrastructure, following the allocation made by the Minister of Finance on 13 January 2022, to outline the remaining funding requirement for NI Water in 2021-22 with respect to increased energy costs.

Answer:

The emergence of the global gas supply crisis, and the impact this has had on NI Water’s power costs, continues to present very significant resource DEL pressures for my Department. Despite the Finance Minister’s most recent allocation of £1.8 million, there remains significant financial pressures for NI Water in 2021-22. As a consequence, I have submitted a bid for £12m resource DEL funding in the January monitoring submission.
