Question: To ask the Minister of Health how much waiting list initiative funding has been made available to each Health and Social Care Trust to enable them to provide additional clinics.
Answer:
£90m non-recurrent funding has been made available to Health and Social Care Trusts (HSCTs) in 2021/22 to help reduce waiting times for outpatient assessments, diagnostic tests and treatments. This funding has been used to secure additional capacity, both in-house and in the independent sector, across a range of elective specialties. The breakdown of allocation to each HSCT is outlined in the following table: Trust | 2021/22 | | Total £m | BHSCT | 32.89 | NHSCT | 9.77 | SEHSCT | 21.54 | SHSCT | 11.13 | WHSCT | 12.40 | Total Non-recurrent | 87.74 |
The balance of the available funding (i.e. £2.26m) is being utilised on a regional basis to undertake endoscopy procedures and to enable a range of outpatient assessments and day case procedures to be undertaken in primary care settings.
