To ask the Minister for the Economy to detail (i) what conversations he has had with local councils to promote and support local businesses; and (ii) what contribution his Department has had in terms of local council regulations relating to trading licences and fees for local businesses.

Answer:

I have had a number of conversations with local councils to promote and support local businesses.

Funding provided to Invest NI through my Department's Economic Recovery Action Plan (ERAP) is supporting Council NI in a collaborative piece of research, and individual pieces of research to review the current start up support and the plans for post 2023, when LED2 funds end.
