Question:
To ask the Minister for Infrastructure, pursuant to AQW 22225/17-22, for an update on the number of pothole repairs currently outstanding in South Antrim.

Answer:

My Department does not maintain records by constituency. However, within the Antrim and Newtownabbey area, as at 27 January 2022 there were 1,822 recorded carriageway, hard shoulder and layby surface defects (which includes potholes, cracking, depressions etc.) recorded as still outstanding on the Department’s maintenance management system.

Due to the time lapse between when a repair is carried out and the associated record is updated on the maintenance management system, the figure quoted above may not reflect the actual position on the ground.
