Question:
To ask the Minister of Health when guidance for visiting in care homes will be reviewed.

Answer:

Visiting With Care – A Pathway, the guidance document for visiting arrangements in Care Homes, includes a requirement for scheduled reviews to be completed broadly every four weeks. In completing those reviews Public Health professionals assess the risks impacting on visiting arrangements and thus whether it is appropriate to move to the next stage of the pathway.

The next review of visiting arrangements in Care Home settings will be completed at the end of the first week in February, with the outcome published shortly thereafter.
