Question:
To ask the Minister of Education what measures are in place to assist schools, seeking to transform to integrated status, to adjust to re-classification from rural to urban as part of the Sustainable Schools policy.

Answer:

The re-classification from rural to urban may impact on some primary schools but not solely those schools seeking to transform to Integrated status.

To help mitigate the impact of re-classification, a transition period will run to 31 August 2027 (ie the end of the next Area Planning cycle) which will allow schools and school managing authorities the time to assess impact and develop solutions to help safeguard the school’s future sustainability.
