Question:
To ask the Minister for the Economy what conversations he has had with the First and deputy First Minister to introduce a scheme similar to the Travel Agents (Coronavirus) Financial Assistance Scheme 2021.

Answer:

Throughout the pandemic I have been in regular discussion with both the First Minister and deputy First Ministers regarding support for various sectors of the economy as the need arose for public intervention. The Executive have provided a host of schemes at various stages of the pandemic, including one for Travel Agents administered by TEO.

At this stage we are well on our way to moving beyond restrictions on business and towards a return to a normal trading environment which is what business clearly want most.
