Question:
To ask the Minister of Justice for an update on the redevelopment of Magilligan Prison.

Answer:

The Northern Ireland Prison Service have finalised the OBC 1 for the Redevelopment of Magilligan and it is expected to be submitted to DoF later this month.

In parallel NIPS, have been undertaking a number of significant projects at Magilligan including work to upgrade the incoming power supply which is due to be completed by the end of March 2022 at a cost of £4.3 million, the construction of the new House of Worship which opened in October 2021 at a cost of £425k and the construction of a new tuckshop and a new store facilities scheduled for completion in August 2022 at an estimated cost of £838k and £810k respectively.
