Question:
To ask the Minister for Infrastructure to detail any plans to either upgrade or install new bus shelters in the South Antrim constituency.

Answer:

Translink is currently preparing a business case for the installation and refurbishment of a number of bus shelters across the public transport network and it is expected that this will be submitted to my Department by the end of March 2022. This will include twelve new shelters within the South Antrim constituency.

The business case will be considered by my Department in line with public expenditure requirements and, subject to that approval, it will also require the necessary capital funding. Any installation of a new bus shelter will be subject to land ownership, statutory consents including planning approval, consultation with DfI Roads Service and PSNI.
