To ask the Minister for the Economy what steps he is taking to enable and encourage more small, local fishermen to provide businesses with local seafood.

Answer:

Invest NI engages regularly with local fishery and aquaculture processing companies in relation to their business needs, with a particular focus on helping these companies to export local seafood into different external markets. They offer a range of financial and non-financial support to help these companies.

The Marine and Fisheries Division within DAERA has responsibility for providing advice and support to the local NI fishing fleet.
