Question:
To ask the Minister for Infrastructure whether Lough Neagh will benefit from the Blue/Green Fund.

Answer:

I would welcome relevant bids from eligible stakeholders for part-funding from my Blue Green Infrastructure fund to go towards any identified projects that meet the Blue Green Infrastructure criteria.

My officials have had several meetings with stakeholders in relation to the future management of Lough Neagh, including a meeting held on 27th January this year to discuss potential projects from the Blue Green Infrastructure Fund.

My officials will continue to engage with stakeholders to address any specific barriers in relation to dredging, maintaining water levels and navigational markers that have been identified as impeding the Lough’s potential to contribute to the local community and officials will report back to me on the outcome.
