To ask the Minister for Infrastructure for an update on the disposal of land at Talbot Street, Newtownards, including what consideration has been given to a Community Asset Transfer being undertaken.

Answer:

My Department is disposing of two plots of land at Talbot Street in Newtownards. The Government Disposal Procedures provide a framework to facilitate community ownership of surplus public land as an option within the normal disposal process, known as Community Asset Transfer (CAT). Officials from my Department are engaging with a Third Sector Organisation to establishing whether disposal of one of the plots of land is feasible under CAT.
