Question:
To ask the Minister for Infrastructure for an update on the work to modernise the Review of Old Mineral Permissions legislation.

Answer:
Work to modernise the review of old mineral permissions (ROMPs) legislation will require amendments to primary legislation to comply with the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) Directive and to ensure appropriate transparency and public participation and that the full quarrying process is covered. An Executive must be in place in order to bring forward these legislative amendments.
