Question:
To ask the Minister of Health to detail any steps he has taken to improve treatment for people with epilepsy.

Answer:

The Strategic Planning and Performance Group, formerly known as the Health and Social Care Board are working with my Department’s Regional Review of Neurology Services to improve services to patients with neurological conditions including epilepsy.

The Review, which resumed in June 2021, is tasked with identifying the optimum configuration of neurology services for the next 10-15 years, determining the associated investment required and outlining an implementation plan. As part of the Review, a specific work stream has been established to develop a neurology care pathway to support those with long-term neurological conditions.
