To ask the Minister of Education how many of the 244 pupils who were not allocated a post-primary place had (i) a statement of special educational needs; and (ii) a reported medical need.

Answer:

The post-primary admissions process places children who do not have a statement of Special Educational Needs (SEN); children who have a statement are placed through a different process. As a result, none of the 244 children who were initially not allocated a school place held a statement. Figures on the number of children who have a reported medical need is not collected as part of the admissions process.
