Question:
To ask the Minister for Communities when the Local Housing Allowance was last reviewed; and when it will next be reviewed.

Answer:

In November 2021 the Secretary of State for Work and Pensions announced that the rates would be frozen at the rate determined for 2020/21 and would remain at this level in future years.

I wrote to Therese Coffrey, Secretary of State for Work and Pensions, on 4 February 2022 requesting that urgent consideration be given to increasing the rates.

I will continue to urge Secretary of State for Work and Pensions to reconsider and increase LHA rates.
