Question:
To ask the Minister for Infrastructure (i) whether his Department plans to progress a third phase of the part-time 20mph speed limit scheme at schools; and (ii) to outline the timescales for any further rollout of this scheme.

Answer:

My Department has invested £2million over the past two financial years which will see the introduction of part-time 20mph speed limits at 215 schools. The second tranche of part-time 20mph speed limits at schools is being delivered this year. When all of the tranche 2 sites are fully operational and have had sufficient time to bed in, my Department intends to carry out a review of this work to determine if a further tranche is justified. Until this review is carried out I am not in a position to commit to install part-time 20mph speed limits at any more schools.
