Question:
To ask the Minister of Health (i) when the Review of Neurology Services will be published; and, (ii) what resources and staffing have been allocated to the completion and production of the review.

Answer:

The Regional Review of Neurology Services is tasked with identifying the optimum configuration of neurology services for the next 10-15 years.

A Neurology Review Team was established to take the Review forward, with membership from the Medical, Nursing and AHP workforces, the NI Neurological Charities Alliance, Primary Care and Commissioning.

Completion of the review is subject to available clinical capacity. In recognition of this pressure, the Department recently secured protected time for a number of members of the Review Team. It is envisaged that this protected time will enable the development of emerging recommendations for improvement by early autumn.
