Question:
To ask the Minister for Communities whether consideration has been given to the rollout of a carer's allowance supplement in Northern Ireland, similar to that introduced in Scotland.

Answer:

I appointed an independent panel to complete a comprehensive review of existing welfare mitigation measures and to consider a future mitigation package.

The panel engaged with a wide range of people who access the social security system and with key stakeholders (including carers) so that their voices are heard on these important issues

The implementation of any new payment schemes will require Executive agreement on the allocation of necessary funding.
