Question:
To ask the Minister of Finance, pursuant to AQW 199/22-27, how he intends to match the £150 support package for families announced by the Chancellor of the Exchequer in February 2022, currently being provided in England by Council Tax rebates.

Answer:

The Executive received a Barnett consequential of £100 million in relation to the Council Tax rebate late in the 2021-22 financial year and Treasury subsequently permitted the carry forward of that funding into 2022-23.

In the absence of an Executive it is not possible to allocate this funding. Any decisions on how that funding is allocated will be for an incoming Executive to agree in line with local needs and priorities.
