Question:
To ask the Minister of Health to detail the number of people living with COPD in (i) Northern Ireland; and, (ii) East Belfast.

Answer:
Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) is one of the disease registers in the Quality and Outcomes Framework (QOF); QOF disease prevalence data is published annually and the COPD register contains the number of patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. As at 31st March 2022, there were 41,283 people on the COPD register for Northern Ireland. QOF disease prevalence data is also available and published at GP Federation level; at 31st March 2022, there were 2,513 people on the COPD register for the East Belfast GP Federation.
