Question:
To ask the Minister for the Economy (i) for his assessment of the number of vacant properties in town centres; and (ii) what steps he is taking to support town centre businesses to prevent closures.

Answer:

This is not within the remit of my department. The Executive Office has established a High Street Task Force, whilst other departments have lead responsibility for town regeneration, planning and licensing.
