Question:
To ask the Minister of Health for an update on the commissioning of abortion services.

Answer:

My Department has developed a draft commissioning specification to support the implementation of abortion services in Northern Ireland, in line with the requirements of the Abortion Regulations (No.2) 2020.

I am currently awaiting legal advice on the implications of the recently introduced Abortion (NI) Regulations 2022 and updated Directions before considering the next steps regarding the commissioning of services.
