Question:
To ask the Minister for the Economy what consideration his Department has given to the development of sectoral plans for the energy sector, as required in the Climate Change Act (Northern Ireland) 2022.

Answer:

My Department is engaging with the Department of Agriculture, Environment and Rural Affairs along with other Departments to collaboratively agree the methodology and design of Northern Ireland’s first Climate Action Plan. In May, as members of the Inter-Departmental Strategic Oversight Group for Green Growth and Climate Change, my officials attended a workshop which considered the approach to all sectoral plans required in the Climate Change Act (Northern Ireland) 2022.
