To ask the Minister for Communities to detail what conversations she has had, or plans to have, with the Minister for the Economy regarding the potential for vacant spaces above shops and businesses to be used for social or private housing.

Answer:

I have developed a Housing Supply Strategy that sets out a long term framework for the delivery of supply to meet our housing needs and demands. As part of the consultation process for this strategy all departments were invited to comment.

I am currently considering options for progressing the Strategy in the continuing absence of an Executive and agreed budget.
