Question:
To ask the Minister of Agriculture, Environment and Rural Affairs what steps he is taking to ensure that Northern Ireland achieves the targets of our Nationally Determined Contribution of the Paris Agreement.

Answer:

Whilst the Nationally Determined Contribution is a UK wide target set under the Paris Agreement, there is a need for all regions to play their part. My Department is playing a key role on behalf of the Executive through progressing both the Climate Change Act (Northern Ireland) 2022 and the draft Green Growth Strategy which will act as key drivers to reduce emissions.
