To ask the Minister for Communities (i) to detail any conversations she has had with caravan and caravan park owners regarding the consumer protections of the Caravans Act (Northern Ireland) 2011; and (ii) for her assessment of the current regulations.

Answer:

My Department formally launched the 2021 Review of the Caravans Act 2011 on 14 December 2021. As the legislation is cross-cutting an inter-departmental Working Group was set up to include the Department for Infrastructure and the Department for the Economy. Working Group members are now analysing approximately 717 responses received from caravan owners (both holiday and residential), caravan park owners and caravan trade organisations.
