Question:
To ask the Minister for Communities (i) to detail the current assessed need for social housing by number of bedrooms, in (a) Coleraine; (b) Limavady; (c) Portstewart; and (d) Portrush; and (ii) what funding is in place to take forward developments in these areas.


Answer:
In tables 1 and 2 below I have provided ‘Total Applicants by Calculated Bedroom Entitlement’, and ‘Applicants in Housing Stress by Calculated Bedroom Entitlement’, for the Coleraine Central, Limavady Town, Portrush and Portstewart Housing Need Assessment (HNA) areas. Table 3 provides the total annual allocations for each HNA area.
At table 4 below I have detailed the total numbers of new social housing units completed to-date in 2022/23, under construction and programmed to start in Coleraine, Limavady, Portrush and Portstewart as part of the Social Housing Development Programme (SHDP).
Please note that programmed schemes can be lost or slip to future programme years for a variety of reasons e.g. relating to delays in acquiring sites and/or failure to secure Planning Approval. Additional schemes can also be added to the SHDP ‘in-year’ through Competitive Land, Design & Build procurement route and/or the purchase of Existing Satisfactory / Off-the-Shelf properties
