Question:
To ask the Minister for Communities whether her Department has received guidance from the Home Office in respect to operating the full asylum dispersal system in Northern Ireland.

Answer:

Issues around immigration and asylum are excepted matters and do not fall within my Department’s remit.

The Executive Office (TEO) have strategic responsibility for refugees and asylum seekers and coordinate our regional response with the Home Office.

Officials in TEO are currently engaging with Home Office on the implementation of this policy and will continue to engage with all relevant departments through the Strategic Planning Group on Refugees and Asylum Seekers.
