Question:
To ask the Minister for Communities to outline (i) Northern Ireland’s current disability employment strategy; and (ii) her plans to update this strategy.

Answer:

i) Northern Ireland’s current disability employment strategy - The Employment Strategy for People With Disabilities - was developed by the former Department for Employment and Learning in 2015. Responsibility for disability employment strategy transferred to the Department for Communities upon its formation in May 2016.

ii) This strategy is being replaced by a new disability and work strategy which is currently in preparation.
