Question:
To ask the Minister of Education how many children with special educational needs do not have a school place for September 2022, broken down by (i) primary; and (ii) post-primary.

Answer:

As at 22 August 2022 there are 33 children with statements of special educational needs (SEN) identified as requiring either a new or change of placement for September 2022 who are waiting to receive confirmation.

The Primary/Post Primary Split of the 33 children is

27 - Primary School

6 - Post Primary

Consultations with these schools and parents are ongoing.
