To ask the Minister for Infrastructure when will the MOT Test Centre in Newtownards be closed for refurbishment.

Answer:

The Driver and Vehicle Agency (DVA) has no plans to close Newtownards test centre for refurbishment during this financial year.

The DVA is developing a programme of work to refresh existing vehicle testing equipment across its network, which will require the staggered closure of tests centres. Once the programme is agreed with the equipment provider, and the dates of test centre closures are confirmed, this will be communicated to customers through the normal channels.
