Question: To ask the Minister of Health how many and what percentage of (i) children; and (ii) adults with cystic fibrosis saw (a) a clinical psychologist; and (b) a social worker during the last 12 months and in each year since 2015.
Answer:
This information is not held centrally so the information was requested from Belfast Health and Social Care (HSC) Trust as Belfast Trust provides a Regional Cystic Fibrosis (CF) Service. Belfast HSC Trust advised that most of the information requested can only be obtained through a manual trawl through hundreds of files and could therefore only be supplied at disproportionate cost. The total number of individuals with cystic fibrosis was only available for children seen by a social worker for two years, therefore percentages could only be provided for these years. The information available is provided in the table below. Table 1. The number of (i) children; and (ii) adults with cystic fibrosis saw (a) a clinical psychologist; and (b) a social worker from 2014/15 - August 2022, in Northern Ireland (Belfast HSC Trust regional service).
