Question:
To ask the Minister of Health to detail the protocol for counselors working on the Independent Counselling Service for Schools to refer students on to Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services.

Answer:

Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) accept referrals from Educational Authority services, such as the Independent Counselling Service for Schools.

As the Independent Counselling Service for Schools is within the remit of the Department of Education (DE), it would be more appropriate for DE to comment on the specific protocol in place for counsellors referring students into CAMHS.
