Question:
To ask the Minister of Agriculture, Environment and Rural Affairs to provide a copy of the maintenance schedule for the drain located on the Strangford Lough coastal wall behind the Saltwater Brig public house and surrounding properties.

Answer:

The Cookstown Drain located on the Strangford Lough coastal wall behind the Saltwater Brig public house is maintained on a four year cycle. The last inspection on 25 November 2020 highlighted the need for maintenance work. The works were programmed to be carried out during the 2021/22 financial year. However, at that time, the landowners did not allow access for the works to be carried out. My officials will contact the landowners again with a view to including the previously identified works in this year's works programme.
