Question:
To ask the Minister of Health what is the trigger point for when Lateral Flow Tests for the Coronavirus would again be recommended for the entire population.

Answer:
Future decisions regarding arrangements for COVID-19 testing, including consideration of proportionate use of lateral flow testing, will be informed by a range of factors. These include for example the prevailing COVID-19 disease prevalence, trajectory and impact and the wider public health risk assessment.
My Department continues to closely monitor Covid-19 surveillance and epidemiological data. All advice in relation to testing will continue to be kept under review and a range of measures may be necessary into the future should the current risk assessment change and in order to mitigate against severe illness for the most vulnerable.
