To ask the Minister for Infrastructure what rights arise from the special share held by the Department in respect of Belfast International Airport.

Answer:

The Special Share arrangement my Department holds in respect of Belfast International Airport is set out in the Airport’s Articles of Association. It includes provision for Government to consider and approve any change in ownership of the Airport and to serve an Original Notice in the event of an Excluded Change of Control or a failure by the Airport to provide Key Operating Facilities.
