Question:
To ask the Minister of Agriculture, Environment and Rural Affairs what engagement he has had with the telecoms industry on improving the telecommunications network in rural areas of Northern Ireland.

Answer:

My Department has allocated £20m to Project Stratum, a £197m project which is successfully delivering giga-bite capable broadband to 85,000 predominantly rural homes across Northern Ireland. My officials have direct engagement with Fibrus, the service provider for Project Stratum, through the Project's governance and oversight arrangements.
