Question:
To ask the Minister of Education how her Department will measure the success of financial assistance that is given to developing new professional qualifications for school leadership as part of Fair Start.

Answer:

This work is at an early stage, as money was first allocated in the 2022/23 financial year. A working group has been convened to establish, in the first instance, a baseline of need and to review existing provision. Following this, a suite of quality-assured programmes and, where appropriate, qualifications will be developed. The success of the finance invested will be determined by the provision of this suite of programmes and by subsequent evaluations as cohorts of school leaders undertake them.
