Question:
To ask the Minister for Communities to detail what safeguards are in place to ensure the fairness of health assessments carried out for Personal Independence Payment claims by private companies.

Answer:

Departmental officials monitor and manage the Personal Independence Payment (PIP) assessment provider’s (Capita) assessment process.

A monthly Independent Customer Satisfaction Survey is undertaken.

The Department’s Health Assessment Advisory Team also undertake a programme of clinical audits and assessment observations.
