Question:
To ask the Minister for the Economy, pursuant to AQW 3257/22-27, for his assessment of the potential to introduce a revenue cap on inframarginal electricity producers with a view to decoupling electricity prices from gas prices.

Answer:

My Department is working with relevant stakeholders, including the Utility Regulator and the UK Government, to explore all available options to mitigate the impact of increased energy prices on consumers. Work continues in this area but at present, I am not in a position to provide any assessment of the options being explored.
