Question:
To ask the Minister of Health how his Department monitors the number of Dental Surgeries in Northern Ireland that accept new NHS patients.

Answer:

The Business Services Organisation (BSO) has records of which General Dental Practitioners have a contract with the Department of Health to provide NHS treatment, and in which practices they work. However, the BSO does not have information as to the capacity of each GDP’s register, nor whether they are currently in a position to register new patients.
