To ask the Minister for the Economy what action his Department has taken to meet the requirements of the Climate Change Act.

Answer:

The Energy Strategy – The Path to Net Zero Energy, has committed to the vision of net zero carbon by 2050. It outlines a roadmap to 2030 aiming to deliver a 56% reduction in energy-related emissions, which will contribute to the 48% lower than baseline target in net Northern Ireland emissions required by the Climate Change Act by 2030.
