Question:
To ask the Minister of Health for an update on the Regional Review of Neurology Services.

Answer:

The Regional Review of Neurology Services is tasked with identifying the optimum configuration of neurology services for the next 10-15 years. A number of workstreams have been established in priority areas including workforce, long term and complex conditions and care coordination.

Completion of the review is subject to available clinical capacity and while workstreams have continued to make progress, this has been at a slower pace than anticipated due to ongoing capacity issues. In this context the Department has agreed a revised timescale which will see the development of a Final Report together with an implementation and investment plan by March 2023.
