To ask the Minister of Finance for an update on (i) the amount of money issued in error under the furlough scheme; and (ii) the amount successfully recovered.

Answer:

The Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme was established and administered by the British Government. HMRC have published estimates in relation to error and fraud of the scheme which can be found here; whilst their information on repayments is available from their Annual Report and Accounts 2020-21 which can be found here.
