Question:
To ask the Minister of Finance and Personnel for his assessment of the impact on domestic rates for householders across the arc21 group of councils, if a suitable location for a proposed Energy from Waste (EfW) plant is not agreed.

Answer:

Any speculation around the potential impact on ratepayers is purely hypothetical and clearly it is important to ensure that ratepayers are not caused any needless concern, particularly given the pressures on household budgets at this time.

Meanwhile, my Department will continue to work closely with DOE, arc21 and Local Councils on this important matter.
