The table below shows the annual cost spent on gas (for heating) and electricity for Parliament Buildings for the period 2017-18 to 2022-23. Costs for 2022-23 are available up to the end of October 2022. Year | Electricity | Gas | TOTAL | 2017-18 | £173,663 | £86,702 | £260,365 | 2018-19 | £198,170 | £91,063 | £289,233 | 2019-20 | £199,999 | £82,104 | £282,103 | 2020-21 | £203,780 | £81,948 | £285,728 | 2021-22 | £237,203 | £246,365 | £483,568 | 2022-23* | £297,924 | £98,306 | £396,230 |
* Figures updated to the end of October 2022 It should be noted that the increase in costs seen in both 2021-22 and 2022-23 to date are mostly due to pricing increases in the wholesale markets. Usage levels for both gas and electricity are published on the Assembly website: http://www.niassembly.gov.uk/about-the-assembly/corporate-information/sustainability/table-versions/
