To ask the Minister of Education how they will ensure that Specialist Provisions in Mainstream Schools receive sufficient capital spend to meet the needs of learners with special educational needs.

Answer:

As I outlined in my Statement to the Assembly on Monday 12 February, I intend to bring to the Executive a bid of circa £528 million of capital funding for education in 2024/25 and subsequent years. This bid includes the additional accommodation requirements of Special Needs placements, including Specialist Provisions in Mainstream Schools.
