To ask the Minister for the Economy (i) for his assessment of the potential closure of the Belfast Metropolitan College, Castlereagh East Campus, and (ii) when he will meet with management to discuss the current consultation.

Answer:

I understand that Belfast Metropolitan College is currently running a public consultation on the potential closure of its Castlereagh campus. This consultation exercise enables stakeholders to have their voices heard and contribute valuable insights and evidence to the decision-making process.When the consultation concludes, it will be a matter for the College to consider all representations made and decide on next steps. I will be seeking an update on the position in relation to the decision when the consultation concludes; it would be inappropriate for me to comment further while that consultation is ongoing.
