Question:
To ask the Minister for Infrastructure whether he will ensure that the Active Schools Travel Programme will continue to be funded by his department in 2024-25.

Answer:

The Active School Travel programme is jointly funded by my Department and the Public Health Agency. The programme is currently being delivered under contract with Sustrans which is due to expire on 31 July 2024. My officials are engaging with the Public Health Agency on the way forward, and any decision on these programmes in the next financial year will be subject to the availability of funding.
